We at the Green Science Policy Institute believe that preventing health problems by reducing toxics is much more effective than trying to cure the conditions they cause. We are working with distinguished scientists, doctors, industry representatives, and policy makers around the world to reduce toxics and prevent serious health problems. Our collective efforts have stopped the unnecessary use of billions of pounds of flame retardant chemicals, many of which would have persisted in humans and the environment for decades.

Our biggest challenge now is finding funding to continue and expand our work. We invite you to contribute whatever you can to the Green Science Policy Institute and join our expedition to a healthier and more sustainable future for our children, our pets, and the living world. We very much appreciate your contribution at any level.

These funds will go to support our vital projects. These include:

  • - stopping an unnecessary requirement for flame retardants in pillows and bed coverings;
  • - educating consumers to avoid unneeded flame retardants;
  • - reducing toxics in building insulation;
  • - educating Chinese scientists and decision makers about toxic flame retardants;
  • - epidemiology studies of highly exposed workers and their children (fire fighters, flight attendants and furniture and foam workers);
  • - the Midnight memorial cat project to solve the mysterious epidemic of hyperthyroid disease in cats;
  • - and the Flame Retardant Dilemma lecture series.
